Today is the Solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul. These great saints worked tirelessly to spread the good news of Christ risen from the dead. Today in Rome all the newly appointed archbishops of the world convened in Rome to receive the Pallium. The pallium is a liturgical vestment worn around the neck of an archbishop. It is significant of his role of oversight. Each archbishop is asked to oversee other dioceses in his area. This yoke of Christ is worn as a symbol of his office.
God bless,
Fr Jake
