Triple Tradition Chart

Taken from http://www.abu.nb.ca/courses/NTIntro/OrderTriple.htm website of Professor Barry D. Smith, Crandall University.

Bible Study this Tuesday Night

This coming Tuesday we will be having Bible Study. I will start a 2 part presentation on the formation of the Synoptic Gospels. The synoptic gospels are the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. The word "synoptic" means "single eye." The name refers to the fact that these three Gospels are remarkably similar in their presentation of the life of Christ. However, just as they are similar, they are also different. This tension between how they are the same and how they are different has led to the development of synoptic analysis. I will be using this kind of analysis late in the year when discussing the Passion Narratives, so these two classes will be helpful down the road. Hope to see you there at 7:00 in the music room, this Tuesday night (January 19th).
